Five-year Anniversary of Bill C-262 Rally

In the long journey toward right, just, and whole relationships, it is important to occasionally celebrate the good work that has brought us to our present moment — milestones that mark our progress and remind us of the path we are walking. This April is the fifth anniversary of our Bill C-262 Rally in Vancouver, which petitioned the government to respect the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Our advocacy work at and surrounding this rally provided momentum for the Bill to be passed (as Bill C-15) in June of 2021. Learn more about the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples on our resource page here, and about the passing of the Bill here.

Below are some photos from the rally.

We continue to be grateful for the ongoing work of some of those pictured below including Kukpi7 Judy Wilson Chief of Neskonlith Indian Band and Butterflies in Spirit, raising awareness of Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women through dance.
